Save yourself at least 3K and just re-gear and buy a superchip...

Regearing saves lives! :-) in that I mean the liveliness to an engine. Why waste the money on a swap? 1500 is a lot cheaper than a 4000 dollar engine and headaches from things not working proper.

If you get the generation 2 Ripp, headers, intercooler, you get the rear wheel hp of a V-8, much more than the Pentastar

The firewall was changed mid-year 2011 to accept the Pentastar engine that arrived in the 2012's. The Pentastar needed an additional 3" to fit in a Wrangler.

Yeah I'm not planning on doing a swap anytime soon since I have 10k miles used of my 100k mile warranty but I was just wondering if it would b cheaper since I don't believe there would b as much involved as in kit and labor

Default 3.8 to 3.6 swop

I can get a rolled 3.6 with 35k miles and/or a 3.8 motor with manual box. I have just lost my 3.8 motor with a RIPP SC and auto box. Needs new subassembly to repair my motor. I can sell my RIPP to pay for ±60% of the cost of the complete 3.6 Jeep. (hopefully - it goes on auction tomorrow.)

The alternative is to fit the 3.8 with the manual box and re-fit the RIPP again. Does anyone know what changes to the electronics are involved?

There's a shop in California that will do Hemi swaps with used engines/trans for less than $15k. Or get the used stuff yourself and find somebody who can work for low labor costs to rogue swap even cheaper. Or just call RIPP and supercharge the thing in your driveway for $5k and be done with it. Or regear--have you regeared yet?[/QUOTE]

Where and what's the name of that shop in CA?
