Nope, this is the biggest misconception with the Rubicon model. 3.73's come stock, 4.10's are an option, thank the government for the CAFE standards.

You'll be fine, ran mine on heavy Toyo's for a year and I live in the mountains. Eventually you'll regear it and I would recommend 5.13's with the auto, but it will be livable until then. The 3.6 and auto are nothing like the pre 2012's that ARE way under powered.

4.88's unless its strictly a trail toy. Or you drive everywhere at 50 mph.

I went with 5.13's when I went to 37's

I did enough research and looked at those great gearing charts, the gearing favors off road, but it's really no problem on the highway, it does start to top out in the 80's on the highway.

If I had a long daily commute I probably would have gone with 4.88:1

The Jeep is my primary ride but I don't go out every day.

I ran 35s on my manual 3.8 with that gearing for quite some time. It's bearable, forget passing anyone on the hwy though

I ran 35's on my '09 3.8 liter w/ 3.73 gears and had no problems.. Sluggish, yes, but I'm pretty sure you can pull 37's off w/ the 3.6 liter.. I definitely suggest getting a Superchips tuner, or something comparable though.

What are you talking about? My 4.88's @ 70mph are turning around 2500-2600rpm, 5.13's are going to turn about 200rpm more at the same speed. The 3.6 is not a diesel, its ok to run above 3000rpm, its not going to explode the moment you go over. And for everyone with the 3.8 motor please stop comparing your gearing to the 3.6, its not the same engine or transmission gearing.
