Forget diesel wranglers imo. No-name diesels dont have a place here. Look at the garbage diesel libertys. Put a nice cummins in there with huge torque and maybbbe, just maybe itd be cool/worth it. But for the most part: Diesel=heavy=not for wranglers

Vm motori is one of the largest Diesel engine manufacturers in Europe.... They have a good track record IMO just as good as cummins, only cummins can't produce an emissions compliant small diesel. The 3.0 would be awesome in a wrangler but we would probably get the 2.8 that's already in them everywhere but North America.

Not sure why you are worried about weight .. 3" lifted JKUs with 35" tires with no armor is about 4700lbs.. Not exactly light and certainly capable. Personally, I'd like to have that 420lb of torque.

The 4BT is roughly double the weight of a 3.8 which would add an additional ~400 over the front axle. Thats alot of additional stress sitting over the front axle would would make it very hard to get over steep climbs.
