As been stated it's quite easy to go from 2x4 to 4x4. I've been collecting my needed parts list and plan on finishing this up. My '08 Sahara 2x4 was the only one in my price range being a JKU. I love it. I off road quite often, just put a Tera-Flex 2.5" last night.

A person would never know it's 2x4 unless you told them.

I have not yet flashed the computer but I believe the only difference is my 4wd light doesnt illuminate and I have to manually disable my traction control etc.. Once you get under the jeep, you will be amazed how easy it is.. Im really surprised more people do not do this when the initial plan is go big anyways...hope this helps give you the confidence to do the swap
What did you give for your axel, if you don't mind me asking. D30? What's salvageable from the solid axel? I don't wanna buy stuff I already have.

You can get a complete D30 front for $200+. Basically everything. Hubs are same, ball joints same, brakes same, CA mounts are same, coil mounts same. I about got one for $150, but i had 2 blowouts and had to spend money on tires.

If you are going Dana 30 then you just need the housing, shafts, & diff internals. You can reuse your 2wd knuckles/ hubs and breaks. They just bolt on. You will need the 2 axle nuts. One for each end of the shaft. I have loads of photos in my albums. They aren't in the best order but you can get the general idea
