I have the auto and 33's with the 3.73gears. Drove a rubi with the same wheel and tire. I couldn't believe how much of a difference that little gear change made. I bought a set of 4.10's out of a new rubi with no miles. Paid like $60 for both the front and rear set of ring and pinion gears. I will swap them out. I will definatly do a major re-gear when putting on the next set of tires.

I remember CJs with manuals had 2.73 and 3.07 gears, and autos had 3.55. Only the 4 cylinders had 4.10. We actually have it pretty good now with the JK's gears. Good thing there's no gas crisis going on now. Not quite as much low end torque with the 3.8 though.

Im running my Rubi with 305/70's basically a 34.5 with stock 4.10 gears and automatic. These gears are fine for everyday driving and the basic mud that I go through. If your planning on hardcore mud or crawling, I would go with the 4.88 or 5.13's if you ever think you'll want 37's.
