Default 285/75r17 question

New jku will be here first of dec. Will have a automatic with 3.73 gears.
Doing a leveling kit and had planned on p285/70r17 toyo at2's on rockstar II's
More looking as tempted me to look at the 285/75r17 toyo at2's.
Will the extra 15lbs. Per tire be noticed?
This will be my wifes dd and mall crawler. don't want to kill the overdrive like I did on her 08 2dr. With 35x12.50 federal mt's
It drove horrible to me. Also had 18" rockstars on it

If you have the new 3.6 and auto trans you wont even know you have 285/75's. I have them now, toyo terra grapplers for my tire. With my RR wheels they weigh in around 75 pounds. I have a 2010 dr w/ auto and its tolerable. The only concern is rubbing at full flex. I broke a bunch of clips on my rears fenders when I had these with my TF leveling kit. Don't go crazy and you will be just fine. Just be sure to recalibrate them for the actual height mounted under the vehicles weight.

I ran 285/75R17s for a while. I loved the way they looked since they were as tall as most 35"s, but were narrow like old school overland look.

BUT!!! they ride very stiff due to the E-load rating. If you are running a very very soft suspension set up, you should be ok.

Oh and to answer your question, there is a bit of a noticeable weight difference in comparison to a 285/70R17. Just a little sluggish off the line.

I have a 2" lift on my 2014 jkur and I had them mount up a 285/75-17 Toyo Open Country at2 and 285/70-17 same tire. The 285/75-17's were just too big for the 2" lift. I think they looked great but I needed at least a 2.5" lift to make them work. This was with stock rims and 1.5" spider trax spacers. This is my second set of Toyo open country in E load and they ride great. Just run 32psi and smooth as can be.
