Teraflex 2.5inch cool lift on its way. I know I want bigger tires. Keeping my stock mineral gray wheels. Don't want 35s but don't want 33s. So which do you guys think is a better fit between 285/75R17 and 315/70R17? Think I'm getting the nitto trail grapplers. This is my baby help a brother out. Thanks in advance.

I was in the same boat. Didn't want to go with a 35 but didn't want a 33. After which I think was a lot of research I went with the 275/75/17 and am really happy with that size for my 2DR
I also had a 2 1/2" lift
Here are some pics on Cliff Hanger and the golden crack
I had the jeep just were I wanted it and then a killer deal came so I sold it and got a JKU only three months after I bought the tires, but I kept them and am happy with that size on my 4DR.. Although I do think I'll go with 35's when these wear out.

Just want to confirm that you are talking about 285/75R17 and not the ever popular 285/70R17, right?
I've had the 285/75R17s before and I actually loved the size. They actually ran taller than other people's 35X12.5R17s, as most "35"s run less than 34. The only thing is that no company makes a 285/75R17 in anything other than E load range, so they tend to be heavy and stiff.
Here is a picture of what my Jeep used to look like when I was running them....

My next set will most likely be 315/75/17
Are the 75's ok on factory rims?
