Default 265/75r16

Hello all, lookin to purchase my new set of shoes today and just need a double check on the size.

I plan on buying 265/75/16 Cooper Discoverer STT's and throwing them on some soft 8 16x8's. The rims have +12mm offset and 5" BS. Will this cause any rubbing issues on my stock jeep?

No, it's only about a 31" tire. I had that size on my '07 for a while and had no rubbing. Your speedometer may be off a little.

Thanks robar....question real quick about backspacing on a JK...how much backspacing is too much? The cragars im looking to order have 5" and i havent seen anything in regards to too much backspacing...if that is possible that is.

Thanks

5" of back spacing will work fine and it will push the tire out a little. The oem wheels have 6.25" of back spacing.

I like 4.5 but it depends how wide your tires are. I agree 3.75 is too much. My mb72 wheels have 4" backspacing and they looked great with 285/75/16 but now that I have 35/13.5 on them they stick out a little more than I would like. Not sure if I would have rubbing with those tires on a 4.5 wheel.

My MB 72 wheels are 4.5" backspacing (actual measurement, not what was listed). My tires stick out just a little past my fender flares.

5" of BS with 265 width tires would put the sidewalls even with the fender flares and would look perfect in my opinion.

I had 285/75R16s on Cragars with 5" backpacking for a little while. They were about even with the edge of the fender flares. The 265's are a little narrower. You may want to look at the 285's it's a popular tire size so there are lots of choices.

^ So if i stepped up to a 285 would that cause any rubbing issues as far as keeping the 5" of bs?
