I rotated at 8K miles and would air up to 35ish for long road trips.

i recently did the chalk test on my tires. at 22 psi im not nearly getting a full contact patch, large portions of each side of the tire are not touching the road. im weary to go any lower than 22. what do you guys suggest i do?

Try 20, then 18. They should pretty close to where you want them by then.

yea im pretty sure that will get me even wear but is that a safe pressure for the street? i dont want to be doing 70 with near no air in the tires.

Also if im going to 20 on road how low can i go for off road use. as far as i understand it single digits requires bead locks

I don't think I would go much lower. You could try 20 and do another chalk test. Are your sidewalls bulging at the bottom at all?

No problems with the tires feeling too soft or squishy in turns, sidewalls look about like you want them for the street, and the contact patch after a quick chalk test is just about perfect for even wear at all four corners. My 4 door is fairly heavy too with the ProRock 60's. I would not think that 22psi is too low, especially on load range E tires
I hear ya but that's not how it works with load range... It's counterintuitive ...
Load range E minimum pressure: 35 psi
Passenger (p metric tires ) 26 PSI minimum
Metric tires 22 psi minimum
