2018 Golden Eagle JKU and don’t know where to start!?!?!?
Just as the title says. Purchased the Jeep back in February and the wife liked it so much in its stock form that she wouldn’t let me do anything to it. Her main concern is messing with the smooth ride. I have finally convinced her to let me start working on it but I have to keep her happy too. LOL! Any advice on lifts (no more than 3”) and wheels and tires packages would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I am running a MetalCloak lift and shocks with 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on kMC beadlocks. My jeep is a 2008 JKU. Rides better that stock. Perfect on road manners.
What ever you do don't get a cheap lift. The ride suffers greatly

What gearing? What tire size, and do you plan to go bigger? If bigger, do you plan to swap to flat flares? What kind of budget do you have in mind? Will this be onroad-only, light trail use, rock crawling, fast desert bumps, something else? More background info will help with the replies you get.

Be aware the JKU GE has 3.21 gearing. I have same model/year and pondering on changing to 3.73 as a first step but looks expensive ~ $2000 in parts from what I can figure out. So far all I have done is put dealer take off springs on rear - swapped from 58s to 61s and leveled the front with a 3/4" spacer. Before doing this the backend was very mushy and tended to roll a lot - now the ride is much better.

I recall my first regear going from 4.10 to 5.13 with the 3.6L. IDK what I was expecting, but dare I say I was maybe expecting just a bit more. And that was bypassing 4.56 and 4.88 gears.

Yeah, a re-gear is good, but does not make up for lack of power. I went from 3.73 with 35's and a 6 speed to 4.56 same combo and it has more grunt, but really it just feels like it hangs out at higher rpms with less effort.
