Haha! I know the feeling! Dropped about 16k at once after I had it for about 8 months. Just wanted it all done

Well, I'm no where near 16k but I'm in the thousands now!!

I did pick up the bumper this morning, it looks real good, a couple of small spots of rust bubbling up but nothing major, I will patch it up with the AEV paint before I install it. I'm in Michigan, everything will rust given enough time if your driving it through the winter.

Would you happen to know what the small square holes are for towards the bottom of the bumper. Kind of where a license plate would be on a normal vehicle, but they are spaced a little wider apart, about maybe 18" or so?

I have to pick up some hardware now and order the brackets that I need from AEV. But it will be a huge difference over the stock bumper, I'm excited!

I don't believe those square holes will be used for anything. When I get back to my jeep tomorrow I will double check for you. I have noticed a small spot of rust on my AEV front bumper that I will be touching up very soon. Things are very similar here in CO with the mag-chloride they put on the roads here.

I did a touch up of my Moab front bumper a while back. The AEV paint did not match to my liking. Rustolium flat black with a perfect match and a whole lot cheaper.

Thanks for the tip, Rustolium is quick and easy to pick up as well.

Thanks again,

Brandon

Does anyone know the length of the bolts that goes through the frame? I bought the anti rotation brackets (red below, one for each side) that go on the outside of the frame. From looking at the instructions this anti rotation bracket goes on outside the frame, and the bumper goes into the frame. There must be a little bit of slop and that is why they have the anti rotation brackets.

It's funny that the instructions say to install the 1/2 bolt through the anti rotation bracket, the nuts that are welded on the bumper are not 1/2, they are M12 1.75 if I remember, I got some and they work perfectly. The 1/2 did not work. The bolts I got are about 2.75" long with quite a long shoulder, I am thinking that I might be better off with about a 2" long bolt, any suggestions would be welcome.

I did ask the guys at AEV who were very helpful, they were have a hard time finding the info while I was on the phone and unfortunately after a few minutes of waiting I had to run to a meeting so I had to go and never got an answer.

Thanks

Now I know where the rear bumper went, that matches the front bumper that I just bought.

Let me know if things don't work out for you with that bumper and I'll be happy to reunite it with the front.

So you made the trip out to Clyde as well, that guy had some nice cement work done.

Don't get too excited, this bumper is going to look great on my Wrangler, no worries here.

Yes, I did and yes he did. I decided to take the rock rails off his hands as well and negotiate a package deal although I didn't need the rails. No worries, I'm just happy you didn't buy the front because you were obviously there before me and I was mainly looking for a front bumper for my winch I previously purchased. Now, I'm just shopping around for a rear bumper since I likely won't like the looks of the stock rear bumper with the AEV/Moab front. If you don't mind me asking, how much was he asking for the rear? I'ld like to keep that price in mind, since the guy works in a dealership body shop and gets other stuff in on occasion.

Well my part came today and I installed the bumper, it was pretty easy install. When putting the bumper on by yourself and using anti-rotation brackets on both sides everything fit in very tight, which is good, but it required a distinct set of steps in order for it to all fit together. I think it looks great.

He was asking $150 for the bumper. It wasn't in perfect condition but it was pretty close.
