Looking for help with a P258B Vacuum Pump Control Range/Performance DTC, NO CEL.

Other note Jeep ran normal last night, today noticed a small puddle of washer fluid, looks to be the washer fluid pump failed. not sure if this is causing the code?

Vacuum pump is still in the stock location. 2013 Wrangler Unlimited sport with 90K miles.

P258B can be due to:

• Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
• Vacuum pump failure
• Vacuum pump relay failure
• Wiring issue

I hate to say throw parts at it, but in this situation I would start by checking the vacuum pump (are all the hoses still attached?). Check the wiring coming off it. If no luck, replacing the vacuum pump is easy. That would be my next move. Hopefully it isn't a PCM issue, but I'd leave that for last.

Sorry to wake this post up but I also have a '13 Sport throwing the P258B code. @CommandoJK, could you update on what the fix was back in 2019?

just putting this out there for anyone who may need it.

vacuum pump is more than likely toast.. probably corroded and/or plugged the lines. swap in a new one and make sure youre hoses are not plugged when you do.
