Default 2013 jk clunk from front end

We are on vacation with our jeep and we started hearing a knocking/clunk when steering the jeep, and on some bumps, if we wiggle the steering wheel it looks like just the tie rod, moving up and down but not sure. Any ideas

Tie rod ends are shot. Get new ones ASAP. Check the drag link too.

Its a 2013 how do you figure they're toast already?

Done any mods? Both times I lifted my Jeep my sway bar links came lose even with lock tight. Would clunk over speed bumps and curbs, and when the just rolled side to side in a corner. But if one of your tie rods really is moving up and down in the knuckle then take it in and get it fixed under warranty.

The same way my 2012 with 15,000 miles on it has already had the ball joints and tie rod ends and Drag link fail. Factory parts are not really that well made I guess. I wish my Jeep would have made it along a little while longer than 10 months before I had to start replacing parts that I've NEVER had to replace on any other car I've made payments on. In fact, my only other car that had had anything close to this amount of steering work was my 1965 Olds 442. And that was voluntary. Hah. But, maybe it is just a sway bar link like the others have suggested.

Check the track bar and tighten down the bolts.

X3on the sway bar links. One of mine was loose a couple of months after I installed a spacer budget boost. Check them and good luck!

Update: went out this evening and I can wiggle the tie rod and drag links up and down very easily, which sounds like my clunk noise when turning and hitting bumps at slow speeds.
