I've been wanted to do this for a while, but I have to wait for the 2015s to start filling up the junk yard. I really hate the tombstone speaker enclosures. The tombstones make it difficult to wash the windshield from the inside. The new dash makes it easy, plus it looks better. Has anyone attempted this mod with a 2013 or earlier?

There was someone that put a 2011-2013 dash into their pre 2010. It looked fairly easy to do since everything is close behind the dash. I've thought about it but that's as far as it goes.

Seems like a lot of work for little payback. You could install a trail cage and you wouldn't ever have to look at those silly little tweeters again. Also you would never have to clean the lower 3 inches of windshield... LOL.

The problem is they didn't just change the very top of the dash, but the front parts as well. There's that slight angled curve just above the left corner of the instrument cluster (and the airbag face on the right) that they tweaked to fit the new speaker grille, so you literally have to replace the dash top and both the fronts. That's a lotta work.

I wonder if you could find a small enough speaker cover that'd encompass the area where the tombstone is, take a small saw and cut the tombstone off, then drill small holes to mount the covers. It's a tight and weirdly shaped area, so there'll be challenges.
