I really dig the VT - and it's totally affordable. Removes the stock resonator, yes?

Correct.
Wait until March 1st to save even a bit more money.
I always suggest saving the stock system, because some like to reuse the resonator.

I'll definitely wait. It's too cold to roll around on the garage floor right now anyway!

I have a Hard Rock edition so the bumper is mostly metal so no issue there, but the trailer wiring runs near there so I tucked it up a bit. No issue there either but has been cold here since I put it on. I doubt you'd see or feel much increase with just an exhaust. I did it because I wanted a bit more tone. I am happy with that, and i recenty added a Volant powercore intake, so far that with the exhaust seems to make the Jeep feel smoother especially when passing and crusing down the hwy. I haven't run this tank enough to tell if it helped with MPG yet.

Thanks for the info. Please post an update on performance/mileage if you can. Also was looking at an online install video.. Looks like if you remove the muffler and heat Sheila you are exposing the gas tank. Is that correct? Did you leave the heat shield on as protection or did you put something else on?

I will, I've been tracking every fill up since new. The heat shield above the muffler just helped keep the interior floor area cooler the gas tank runs down the passenger side no where near the exhaust.

This seems nice, I for sure want something different with more clearance. Prefer it to be quite, with 4.88 my RPMs are up a bit and pulling a trailer I magine this would be deafening.

I have Borla for 3 years. It does make the Jeep slightly more responsive, with added noise. At 5000 rpm the muffler is loud, but luckily with a nice deep base. Even redlining the engine is not deafening sound. The first muffler rusted out after 1.5 years, even though it was presumably stainless steel. Looked like the stainless steel was mixed with regular steel and the muffler rusted in the spots where there was regular steel. The replacement muffler looks great after 1 salty season.
