Default 2011 havoc instrument dimmer wire

Hello Everyone,

Okay, did my research and it seems my wires are colored different. I am wanting to tap into the wire that dims the instrument panel and I read that the hvac wire bundle has a grey and orange wire that can be used. Well mine on my 2011 x does not have a grey and orange wire going to the hvac....or I could be colorblind.

I am just wanting to light up the pressure gauge for my OBA.

Are there other options or does someone know?

Thank you!

Dale

I ran into the same problem with my '11 trying to wire up an oil pressure gauge. I was told you can get behind the instrument cluster to find the wire you're after. I gave up before finding it, deciding my oil pressure gauge wasn't bright enough at night to bother me.

You should have an orange wire with gray stripe on the back of the HVAC controls according to Mark.

See post #21 in this thread...

Have you tried any of these other possibilities detailed in Post #1?

Thank you for the links! I will check the other locations. In all the locations, it is a grey/orange wire...correct?

Except for the instrument cluster, where it is the orange wire from the black connector. And it is an orange/gray wire. The predominant color is listed first. Not sure if you were looking for a grey with orange stripe.

Let me know how you make out.

Nah, just the way I typed it....there is no wire in the 2011 sport hvac that is orange and grey period.

Okay. Good to know. I updated that thread to show through 2010, since I believe 2011 was when the interior was redesigned. Until I hear differently that is how it will stay. Thanks for the info.
