Default 2010 sport gear question

I am swapping the gears on my 2010 auto sport. I found a good local shop but they said I need a new carrier for my front d30. Is that accurate? It is the only shop that I talked to that mentioned a new carrier. I have the master overhaul kits.

I am switching from 3.73 to 5.13.

Ok, thank you. I wonder why they are the only shop that mentioned the new carrier.

I thought you only needed a new carrier if you had 3.21s and the carrier on the 3.73s and above were the same.

3:73 and up you can use the stock carrier I am running my 5:13 on my 2010 with the factory carrier. If they are telling you they won't fit I would find another shop cause they either don't know what they are doing or trying to sell you parts you don't need.

Agreed. FIND A NEW SHOP. With 3.73s you will not need a new carrier.

I had no problems when I did mine...

Thanks for the information. I called Northridge as well to confirm and they said the carrier for the 3.73 will work just fine. I'm going to call the shop back and see what they say.
