Installed JK RRC Side Armor, followed the directions Link provided

Now my JK squeeks like hell. Seems as the body mounts aren't tight enough (but torqued to 80ftlbs as stated by the instructions). Any Ideas, or anyone else had this issue?

Did you replace the body mount washers with the ones that came with the rails? they are coated and supposed to prevent the squeek. If you did and it is still squeeking, look and see if one (or more) of them are up against the rail mount. If it is, pull it off and grind the diameter a little smaller. I also rounded the edge, for a smaller contact area, just in case

 

I did replace with all the parts that came with the kit. Before I take the bolts out again and grind them down (BTW Thanks for the info) did you have any issues removing and reinstalling the frame bolts? Seemed to be an area when installing/removing that extra pressure was needed to pull the bolt out or remove. Just don't want to strip them out ...

 

THey had loctite on them from the factory, so it does require a little more pressure to remove them.
The front ones seem to be 2-stage if that makes any sense. it is like the come loose, then need a little downward pressure to engage a second set of threads. not sure if they really do this, but it feels like they do.
also when you grind them you lose the rubber coating, so I only did the one that was rubbing, all the others had clearance

I made the bone head mistake of leaving my stock rock rails on when I put mine on. Then I couldn't figure where the squeek was coming from. My dealership pointed it out to. Just yanked the rock rails yesterday and re-installed the RRC rails and it's all better now. Now to put the rails up in the For Sale thread!

 

Mine squeeked for a day or two, then before I could start working on a fix the squeek went away.....

Give it couple days of driving before tearing into it and see if it goes away..

 

It will be a few days before I can work on it as I will be out of town, but, it sounds like a 1970's Chevy going down the road. Quite loud...

Anyway.. TKS and will let all know how it goes.

I'm in the middle of the same problem with mine. I emailed them, and they sent me new washers with double the coating. The rails were silent for about a week. They are squeaking again. I'm going to try grinding down the diameter of the washers this weekend. Will doing this make the mount/bars weaker?
If the solution to this is a 1/8" smaller diameter washer, why the hell aren't they sending smaller washers in their kits? This problem became obvious a while ago, why haven't they addressed it and fixed the problem. If grinding down the washers (actually one of their suggestions in their email reply) doesn't pemanently fix the sqeaking, I'm returning the bars.

 

Agreed, the squeeking is very annoying, but it DOES disappear without fixing.

I planned on removing & grinding the washers down but didnt have time before a 100+ mile journey - the road shake wore the RRC washers down and squeek to barely a whisper.
