Is it true that the 285/75 r17's in the toyo at2 are more aggressive? I saw a different size of the at2 at the dealer and was less impressed with it as far as looks, looked like a larger stock dueler tire to me. I can not find any information on it and my local tire shop looked at me like I was crazy when i said it was different. Is there a different model # or something? Any research information would be helpful. Thanking everyone in advance...

Please keep up with wheel lug torque checks! Those are SPACERS not to be confused with spacers. The difference is that yours sit between wheel and hub, but do not bolt to hub, only use the pass-thru studs and WILL loosen up with the potential of losing a tire while driving. Ask me how I know... I watched my right rear go blasting past coming to a stop sign in a car - wanted those ford sized mags too bad - after tearing up the quarter panel and dropping the rear down to the brake drum to help me stop. I was planning on checking torque once a week and it wasn't often enough. Got my rechecks done the first two days and then decided to go for the week - oops!

Go 'Noles !!

Thanks, just wanted to make sure that all I had to do was order the right size and not worry about a different model number.

If you order the 285/75/17 I can confirm the only version it comes in is Extreme. The 285/70/17 has options from the lightest tread to the Extreme. I can also confirm there is a significant difference between the aggressiveness in terms of depth of the tread, the voids between the lugs as well as the sidewall. I have the 285/75/17 and absolutely love the tire and the size. IMO the Extremes are barely recognizable as the same tire, when put side by side, other than the general shape of the lugs.

If I understood right, he's only using a single spacer to move the spare tire out some to fit on the stock carrier.
