Default 2-door JK with simple hardtop mounted Roof rack seen in downtown Chicago

I saw a yellow 2-door JK with a roof rack today. It wasnt mounted to the body or windshield frame as per usual. Nor was it that on-the-side of the hardtop mount either. Instead the rear piece of the hard top had two strips lengthwise on top into which a mount of some sort was placed. Then what appeared to be normal Thule bar mounts and bars into that. Has anyone else done this? How much weight would the top hold if mounted this way?

Probably a Yakima roof rack: .quadratec.com/products/92024_2010_07.htm

Here is a write up on another one:

You cannot put a lot of wieght on this set up. Maybe 80-100 lbs max. But even then, it is risky if you go offroad because of the additional stresses on the hard top. The top has been known to crack in weak spots
