Default 2" body spacer concern with a 2.5" lift

2008 2dr jeep:
I'm running a 2.5" suspension lift on 35's on, both are new and looking to raise my jeep a lil higher (mainly for looks) its my DD but it hits the beach twice week.

Before you say why didn't you buy a 4", etc. I'm a college student...all I eat is ramen so I can fill up my jeep and add mods. I also bought the lift before I got the tires so I thought I would have a lil extra flex room.

I've watched videos on YouTube of installs and looks somewhat easy, but I'm afraid of the driveshaft. Does it need a extension if its auto?

Any helpful tips, suggestions, or write ups will help a lot

Or should I return my body lift and get a leveling kit? If possible/ if a level kit will work with a existing lift*

I just installed a 3/4" coil spacer lift on top of my 2.5" TF lift... so far no issues (2dr auto). I have a 1" BL I plan to install as well. To my knowledge, I don't believe you need an extention for the auto, and the BL will have no impact to your driveshaft.

It wont affect the drive shaft but the only thing i could think of is on manuals were you have to get a shiftet linkage extension but you wont need to worry about that

You should have no problems with a 2.5" lift. It's after 4" that front driveshaft gets abused because of the angle and the boot hitting the tranny skid plate when discoed. I ran 2.5" for a couple of years with no problem whatsoever.

Are you asking if you can combine a body lift with your 2.5 inch lift? If so, yes. That would be a great combo.
If you are asking if you can add a 2 inch coilspring spacer with your 2.5 inch lift, no. I think that would be a bad idea.

just cut the flares to get a little more room for flex. its pretty much free if you have the right tools. as everyone else has said, once you start going higher than 2.5" of lift you start running into different issues - driveshafts, steering problems, etc. as far as the body lift goes, ive never been a fan. looks wise its awkward to see the large gap between the body and frame unless you get gap guards, and then theres the large space created by the newfound gap between the bumpers and the body. and if youre ever in an accident that results in injury, there can be legal issues as a result of the body lift more so than the suspension lift.

I think a 3/4" to 1" spacer would put you where you want to be with 35's

Yea combine both. BL with suspension lift

Sorry, misread your post. At 4"+, you will have driveshaft problems, at least with the front DS, the RZeppa joint (or whatever the name is) will have a too acute angle and will break off. Happened to me...
