the suspension lift would give u more flex. I have a body spacer and it works great on and off road for me

Suspension lift will give you more ground clearance. Body lift won't. I haven't even seen a 2" body lift for the JK. I'm not even real sure I want to either.

Suspension lift all the way. It will physically lift your frame off the ground, give you more ground clearance and provide increased axle articulation. A body lift will just lift the body of your Jeep up off the frame and do nothing else for you. And, in my opinion, anything more than 1" is way too much and will make your Jeep look fugly

Ditto. Suspension lift

the only reason i would ever do a body lift is if:

A. I needed just a touch of clearance for different tires.
B. it would have to be free to do A.

It would retain your factory ride without question, as you wouldnt be touching any part of it, but to me that isnt a good enough reason to use one.

To elaborate on this point, it's just damned dangerous. Had a 1" on the TJ, and it was perfect, combined with a 1" motor mount lift. Anything more than that, and you put severe stress on the cab/tub mounts. Would be easier to have sheared off in the event of an accident.

to tell the truth. i dont really know what is on mine. THe dealer didnt know (bought this thing brand new with everything as u are about to see it). It sits on 35" tires, some1 from 4 wheel parts said they thought it was a no name spring lift (stock shocks) and some people said they thought it was spacer lift who i wheeled with last weekend.

Pics:

So if i do have a 2" spacer... its working great. Anyone want to tell me where to look and what for see what i have?

A 2" spacer lift for the suspension is normal, a 2" body lift isnt, at least not yet (and i hope it never is!)

A body lift would have what closely resembles rubber (or aluminum) hockey pucks (there are several... 8-10 i think required?) sitting between the body mounting locations and the top of the frame (lifts the body off of the frame, hence the term "body lift" (does anyone have a pic to post of these? i cant think of anyone posting one at the moment)

It doesnt appear that you have a body lift, it looks to set normally on the frame, but is difficult to tell for sure. Best way to check is stick your head in the wheel well (dont do that while driving please) and see if there is a spacer on top of the coils other than the stock bumper .

Yeah, check your coils-- see if there are spacers above them, and if they are actual Mopar parts. As far as shocks go, if you have a 2" suspension lift I don't think you would be able to run the stock shocks without shock extenders like the ones that come with the Teraflex lift. Is there any way you can post pics of your coils and shocks? That way we'd be able to tell you exactly what's going on....

BDS is selling 2" body lifts. gawd i hope no one buys one.

for the life of me i just cant see them as being safe. All i can see in my head is one of those physics experiments from college on vibration isolation.. *scary*

i saw some pictures once of a Jeep (older model) that had a body lift and had gotten wrecked. the body mounts held but where all twisted, Just what fraction of an ounce or pound more it would have taken to seperate the body from the frame if they snapped is anyones guess. I am surprised no one has posted them up here yet. i cant be the only one who saw them.
