Default !2.50's on a 7.5 rim

My 09 Sahara came with 18x7.5 aluminum wheels. I am about to install a 2.5" teraflex coils/shocks lift. I would like to then run Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x 12.50 on my stock rims with wheel spacers. Nitto recommends a min 8.5" wheel. This Forum recommends 8" wheels. Will the 1/2" make that much difference?

Thanks, I suspected that to be true. I am wondering if I will have any difficulty in getting these tires installed on my rims at any of the distibutors. I sent this same query to the Nitto site. Their reply was simply, See Tire Specifications. Corporate CYA, I would assume. I was hoping to get a positive response that I could take with me to the tire outlet. My dealership is going to do the lift and will in fact mount these tires on my rims. Only problem is their prices are about 70 bucks more/tire.

Use the phone and call around, that way you don't waste a drive. Most will prolly mount them for you. The rest are dickheads.

I'm sure you can find someone without much trouble. Before I got my tires I put 255s on 9" wheels.
