I have the Tera 2.5" BB, and I had been running aftermarket wheels, and went back to the Rubi rims that came stock, with new tires. I thought it would be ok, but there was only about 1/4" clearance in the rear between the upper link end and the inside edge of the wheel (on BOTH sides). It was ok most of the time, but every now and then I would hear odd noises from the rear. When I checked, the links were rubbing once in a while against the balance weights (lucky I did not knock any loose). When I saw that, I did not drive anymore until I had put on the Spidertrax spacers.

No problems after that.

So I am reading that you will need either spacers or aftermarkets to run this lift? This may change my mind on what lift I purchase.

Question

wonder why this is only happening on the TFBB? don't all lift kits over 2" come with new rear swaybar links? so wouldn't all of them rub? guess its more apparent on the TF one because so many people get it. I have an 07 and when i installed mine, i forgot about this rubbing issue and installed both links on the outside. A few days later i was reminded of it and went out to check it and sure enough, my side walls had scrapes in it from going over speed bumps. I just move both to the inside and it was fixed until i get my wheel spacers. why can't you do that on the 08?

Would this also happen to the Skyjacker suspension lift since it is a 2.5? Or is this a TF issue only?

If I go with spacers, will this cause the tires to hit the flare at full flex?

If you can mount the new links on the Inside of the swaybar you can still use the factory rims/tires with NO spacers or Rubbing.

The problem is that some Jeeps can and some can't, It just depends on your particular Jeep.

I have an 08 and mounted the links on the inside. Still have rubbing at full droop w/o spacers. I even had to widen the hole on the lower swaybar link (on the axle mounting plate) to give the swaybar link some room and was not"binded" against the mounting surface. On the passanger side, I groung the head and end off of the bolt for the upper link to clear the new trackbar bracket. It took some modification, but I was able to make it work.

On mine, there was no possible way to run the links on the outside w/o more spacing. No modification could have made to allow the outside link mount possible, unless you had better backspacing.
