Default 2.5 Terraflex BB

I was about to order the 2.5" BB from Terraflex and noticed that Northridge is saying, "if using stock wheels, then you must order wheel spacers"!!
I haven't seen this in any of the threads before.
Is it true.
I have a 2008 Sahara with 18" rims. Do I need them?????

According to the box yes, I read the instructions and it says the left rear sway bar link hits the left rear rim on full droop. I picked up my kit on monday from Northridge and have yet to install it.

I have heard its even more of an issue with the 08's. I think something changed with the rear sway bar. I dont have any first hand experience with the 08's though, this is just coming from what Ive read on here.

I installed the Teraflex 2.5 BB with 1.5 spidertrax spacers last Sunday. I did not try without them. The box did say to use them. I picked up my spacers from a forum member here for cheap, and I like the wider look anyway.

I've installed it without the spacers but that is because I knew in 3 weeks I was getting rims and tires with Backspacing at 4.25" vs the 6.25 that the stock rims have. Northridge is correct and even if you don't obtain full droop the link was only 1/2" from the tire with stock rims and changing the link to the inside.

You will see a slight shift of the rear axle of up to 5/8" which plays into this on any lift. I'd recommend making your decision depending if you plan on getting new rims in short order. The stock rims are a problem because jeep made them with such a high backspacing bringing them closer to the wheel well.

WOL has the best directions in the write-up section. TF instructions are useless. Also when torquing the track bar make sure you lower the vehcile (tires on) before torquing. It will prevent binding of the bushings.

This is a very good lift system for the budget minded. Allot of folks have it here and the good thing is any issue you have many can advise you on. If you install yourself make sure you have everything you need before starting and you should be able to finish within 4 to 5 hours if you take your time and pay attention to the details in the instuctions. I Had someone else install it orginally and they pretty much just did it and I can't tell you the problems I had.

If you lived closer I'd have you come over and I'd help ya do it...

I installed the TF 2.5 BB on my sahara. I followed WOL's instructions on this forum. The issue is the new sway bar link ends are slightly thicker. Original instructions say to install them on the inside vs outside like it is now. I installed mine on the inside and have had no issues (without spacers).

I installed mine inside also and at full flex tore my left rear brake line. Now i run without rear swaybar links and sure can notice some difference but not so much as to make me to use them any more.

The funny thing is when i talked to my Jeep Tech, He said just to remove the rear sway bar. being it is sooo small you will hardly notice a differance, but there will be some when entering or exiting hiways.

I have seen some rub on the LR link, but not enough to worry about it.
