Default 2.5" with stock 32" tires a no no?

I tried to search....

I am planning on getting either a TF or RC 2.5" BB. I do eventually plan on getting some 33's, but for now will live with 32's until cashflow permits. My question is if I get the lift now...will the Jeep look goofy with a large gap and dwarfed tires?

I've read that the TF kit is more complete... so I may go that route, but...

I also have a question regarding the RC with 2.2 shocks. Are the 2.2 shocks better than nitro? I looked on their site and you can get the 139 kit and add in nitro shocks and still be under their 299 kit with 2.2 shocks.....

Thanks all!

the 2.5 BB doesnt look bad with the 32" sahara or Rubicon tires. now if you have the 16" steeles thats a whole nother story.

you may want to get a set of spacers to get the tires out flush with the wheelwells. looks better IMO.

The only really big sticking point between the sides is that the RC kit doesn't come with bumpstops...but if you're looking @ the 2.2 performance shocks, I believe they have internal bumpstops therefor eleminating the need to replace the factory stops. Rear brakeline relocates are not required... cheers.

I don't think it looks goofy ... I'm in the same boat, will get 33's eventually but the 32" Rubi tires work great and look fine for now.

Talking

The stock "32's" measure 32.1" in diameter.

The average "33" is about 32.5 -33" in diameter...so, at most, you are talking about a diameter change of less than one inch...of which, only HALF will protrude into that "gap" you're worried about.

So - from an aesthetic perspective, going from a 32 to a 33" tire is more or less a wash.

Depending upon WHICH 33 you get, the difference in gap might be between 0.25" and 0.4"...hardly noticeable, or worth worriying about....considering you are merely WAITING to get the 33's anyway, etc.

Hope that helps.

Put it this way.....you have more room to flex with 32's....

Ive heard some people say its the perfect setup for a 2.5 bb

I was fine with the way my JK looked with the 2.5" bb and 32's:
