2.5" lift looks to big for 35's
#33
Was just wondering if you had to re-gear with 35"s ?
I am wanting to help my son do just what you did with his wrangler, but I am concerned that the stock gearing might be too high with 35 inch tires. I am assuming that you have the same axle ratio of 3.21. Would you say the 6 speed tranny and stock gears work fine with those tires? Does any one else have any input regarding this setup? I am trying to make a good decision on what mods to do, and do it right the first time so I don't have to re-do and spend more money later.
Thanks A lot!

I have been looking at a thread on here. Show your 35's or something like that. I have been seeing jeeps with 35's and the same 2.5" lift, my question is why does does it look like one jeep has more space betwwen the tire and finder than the other? My wife got me a 2.5 lift for Christmas an I was looking at 33's, now I think I might hace to much space between the fender and tire. Any one have pictures of a 2.5" lift with 33"s?

I have 35"s and 3.21s and a 6-speed. Ya it's underpowered on the highway and off road I can only us 4-low or else I stall but that's just fine. Around town I compensate by shifting 500rpms higher if I feel I need too. But it's manageable as a daily driver. Don't let people scare you. If it was so bad you would see people downsizing all the time which is the exact opposite of what appears to be happening.

You never HAVE to regear. You only enjoy your Jeep more if you do. Everybody's tolerance is different. With my 2010 6 speed, I thought 3.21 was awful with 32" tires.

I don't have any recent pics, but i'm running about 3.75" of lift on 315/70/17 Hankook Dynapro M/t's. Pieced the lift together with RK control arms, evo plush coils, fox shocks, just to cover the basics, lot of other goods. I like my taller lift though because I'm running 6" lift Fox remote res shocks, I have lots of flex
