2.5" lift looks to big for 35's
I have been looking at a thread on here. Show your 35's or something like that. I have been seeing jeeps with 35's and the same 2.5" lift, my question is why does does it look like one jeep has more space betwwen the tire and finder than the other? My wife got me a 2.5 lift for Christmas an I was looking at 33's, now I think I might hace to much space between the fender and tire. Any one have pictures of a 2.5" lift with 33"s?

The issue is with the different tire manufactures. Some "35's" actually measure 33 inches or less mounted and loaded, while others may measure closer to true and fill up the wheel well a little better. 33's will have the same issue. My 33's actually measure 32 inches mounted and loaded.

In addition to variation actual tire size, there is also variation in actual lift between different 2.5" lifts.

It can depend on the lift self. If it is a 2,5" BB, you will only het 2,5" of lift. It it is a 2,5" spring lift for a 2 door like Terraflex, you might get 3" of lift. If it is a 2,5" spring lift from Rock Krawler, you might end up with 3,5" of lift on a 2 door since they don't have a different lift for 2 door or 4 door Jeeps.

This is my old rubicon express 2" and 33's. Granted, I have the rugged ridge flat flares, but you get the idea of a 2" BB and a 33" BFG KM2.

Currently running a rock krawler 3.5" coil lift on 37's. sorry, no pics yet, axle truss and gussets are being welded. I can tell you that with a budget boost and regular fenders, you will be happy with the lift size and 33's. I would stay with a budget boost if you do not want to run 35's.

I run 35's on a 2.5" RK lift and have BW flat fenders. 37" tires fit without issue and I went with 35's as the automatic trans and 5:13 gears I have make the 35's perfect for DD , trails and I guess you could call it fuel economy. The KM2's also after doing some research at the time proved to be the lightest out of the bunch too.
Yeah the Gap is big but when swaybar is disconnected and suspension fully flexed out I do not rub what so ever. For 37's I could just throw my stock bumpstop ends into my TF stops and net the same result with slightly less flex.
33" tires on a 2.5 inch lift with stock fenders would probably have the same effect.
With 0" of lift (Stock) and the factory equipped 32" tires and flat fenders only the Jeep looks the same too (Gap wise):

if you want to take a look in my profile i have pictures of my set up... 2" lift (after install was more like 2.5) on 33's and now on 35's. my 33's measured 32.5 mounted and my 35's measure 34 mounted. depends on what tire you go with. i prefer 35's and thought the 33's looked a little small.... they lasted 6 months before i swapped up. lots of people like the look of a 33 with a 2.5" lift though, totally your preference.
