Default 18 psi on the Road

Ok so there are a million threads on PSI....and they all basically lead back to one thing. Do the chalk test. So I did the chalk test....many many many times.

This got me down to 18 PSI before It showed me I was getting full tread coverage on the ground. The jeep seems to ride well and I still get around 18-20 mpg.
285\75R16 (33s) ProComp xtreme a\t on stock steelies.

My question......Is 18 psi to low or odd for proper inflation?

Chalk test or not, that seems really low for on-road. The lowest I would run on-road is about 26 psi.

I have 32" mud tires and I run them at 35 psi on the dot in all weather rock sand snow and have never had any problems, I found that in loose sand, snow and mud, they gave me more traction than they did at 23psi, tryed it many times and I also think they handle alot better at hwy speeds with 35 than they did at 23 just seems to work for me??????

Thanks for the info guys....I'll take it up to at the least 25 psi.
I didn't want to be doing anything unsafe......so I'm glad I asked.
