Im ordering some Pro Comp 7005 rims for 12.50/35's and Im not sure which is better to get. The 8" rim has the 4.5 BS and the 9" has a 4.75 BS but my main concern is the bead when I airdown for off road. Which would you order?

I have always run 8" wheels on 12.5" tires. They deffinetly work better when running aired down. They put more lateral pressure on the beads. You do have to keep in mind that you will have to find a good pressure to run them on the street and still have a good even contact patch. Thats isn't a problem though.

the 8" wheel with the 4.5" bs will do you right.

You could do either size and be ok. The 8" wheel will allow you to air down a little more and the 4.5" BS will be better than the 4.75.

I air down to 12 and have run 10 on occasion with my 8" wheel. Knock on wood, have not busted a bead yet...but it's bound to happen at some point.

Thats what I was thinking. I was leaning towards the 8" but ended up changing up the entire wheel all together.

My JK will spend 90% of her life on the road and I was told the 9" is better overall for my needs and can still be aired down "enough" to get the job done when need be. I ordered 5 - 17x9 Mickey Thompson Sidebiters which also have the 4.5 backspace. Should be here in a couple days. Then its off to the shop to see my buddy and get some Hancook MT's

Honestly, the 17X9 was the better choice. That's the one I would have went with as well.

How about 8.5"? I'm running 17x8.5 and I like the look and feel on and off road.

The rims that I narrowed down my "want" list too seemed to be all either 8 or 9 wide. Forget which one but I did see a 8.5 rim that was nice looking but I also didnt want to spend 300 per rim either...lol

Another question...keep in mind I'm still a newbie, and learning, You are talking about 12.5" tires on an 8" rim. What part of tire is 12.5 "...the tread with? Here is a picture of my rim...didnt measure but sure its wider than 8", more like 10 or 12 maybe. My tires are Goodrich 315 70R/17 KO2's

So what do I have?
