16" wheels on a Rubicon?
I just got a 2008 Rubicon Unlimited, is there an issue with putting 16" alloys on it? I thought that I read someone had some brake caliper issues with 16's. I also noticed in some Mopar lift literature not to run anythong below 17". Then today I tried to order some pro comp 16's and the dealer called back stating that pro comp did not recomend 16's on the Rubicon, but were not specific as to why. What's the story?

I think they may be trying to lead you down the garden path leading to more expensive wheels and tires.
AFAIK, there is no difference between a Rubi and an X that would prevent 16 inch wheels working just fine on a Rubi.
I have a friend that runs 16" steelies on his Rubi.
Many folks have had issues with 15's rubbing on the outside of their calipers...seems to be dependant on backspacing, but I'm not sure about that.
I can't recall anyone having issues with 16's, but I may be wrong on that.

16's come stock on most X's out there. And the D44 in a rubicon is the same as a D30 from the tubes out. The shafts have a different spline count on the dif side. Just dont get wheels with tons of back spacing.
