Default 16" vs 17" vs 18"

Other than price, is there any advantage of going with a 16" wheel and equal diameter tire over a 17" or 18"? My guess is that a 16" tire would show a larger sidewall. Anything else?

If you ever plan on going bigger than a 35 get a 17" wheel.

Advantages of 16's would be better sidewall flex and cheaper tires (up to $100 cheaper than the same tire on 18's). On a personal note, I like the small wheel big tire look, and run 15's

Another thing to consider is that many of the tire sizes in 18" only come in load range E. I found this out when shopping for 33s to put on my Sahara wheels. Ended up buying new wheels & tires in 16".

Many aftermarket parts and modifications will not work with smaller wheels. Big brake upgrades, some tie rods and draglink flips for example.

I would go 17". Most tire options and looks great on the JK.
