Default 15 PSI with 285 and stock wheels

Right now i am running my 285/70-17's at about 17.5 PSI or somewhere in there...maybe 18. I was wondering if i could run my tires at 15 PSI. I have the factory 17" wheels. lol this is for the trail. the tires are KM2's and i have a 4 door if that helps.

I run by 35" KM2s at 15 PSI often. No problem so far. 15 is about as far as I would go without beadlocks, though I know some go to 12 with no problems.

There is an advantage with slightly narrow rims - it will be harder to spin a tire on the rim.

I say go for it! Just have a compressor or spare handy in case you pop a bead.

Shouldn't have any problems...it will make the trail ride nicer with lower Pressure.

However, my TPMS light stayed on for several days after going on a 2 day wheeling trip....

thanks guys!! well on my CJ-7 i have 33x12.5-15 MT baja claws with 15x8 steelies and i run them at 12 with no problems either. cause i have been running these 285/70 KM2 at 17-18 area and i wanted to go lower. in a couple weeks i will be going to some steelies, 17x9, so i should be able to run them about the same preasure.
lol im out in Moab so i wanted some more traction on that slick rock!!

you guys think i would be able to do Moab Rim trail or Cane Creek? I have a 2" BB with these 33's and the factory rear locker and electric discos...and rock sliders.

I have 17X9 and 35s and run at 12 psi on rocks, no problem yet.

I go down to 5 psi on the beach per the rules, no problem there either.

You should be fine on Kane Creek, as long as you're with a group and someone with you knows the trail well. It's easy to get lost.

Moab Rim might be tough in a 4-dr, but I'm sure you could do it.

I don't need to either. However, I rather take the 5 min to air down than pay the $200 fine. That cash would do me much better in the tank.

In MA, we love to make unnecessary laws when we are not busy being corrupt and taking bribes from undercover feds.
