1310 or 1350 u-joints?

I know it seems like the joints on the outer shaft of the front axle might be the stock weak link on the JK. When upgrading axle shafts what joint are people tending to use. I was thinking about when I get to this point just doing all of them with the CTM joints for the strength.

Understood you post just didnt sound like that
Its all good.

I question those who run the 1350 u-joints with the stock transfer case/ transmission. bullet proof is not always bomb proof. I have seen way to many grenade a transfer case, transmission, or rear end because they were running the wrong u-joints, i.e. to beefy. The 1310 series u-joint are a perfect match for a replacement drive shaft with the stock drivetrain in the JK.

Since I have no plans to ever go bigger than 35's on my 2 door Rubicon, I ordered a 1310 for the front and a 1350 for the rear from David.
Alloy shafts and Ctm's would be my next upgrade on the drivetrain and a full set of RockHard skid plates will come first.
Maybe one day I replace the OME springs and shocks with something taller, and then look at 37's, but then I'd have to regear the diffs, and right now I'm pretty pleased with the 6-speed, 4.10 gears, and the Toyo 35" tires.

Yep, had a great chat with Tom Woods and when I told him I had 33's and would never go over 35's, he talked me out of buying new 1350 shafts from him. What a guy. I did pick up some 1310 Gold Seal u-joints (great warranty and zerks in the end caps) from him as I can never get the joints needing the needle tip lubed right.

Ive got 35's and I am running 1310's front and rear, with chromoly shafts. No problems here but I would def carry spare parts with this set-up and 37+. I do wheel mine pretty hard though and Ive still no issues.
