Default From 12.5 tire to 14.5 Tire

Currently am running 35x12.5x17 on stock rubi rims and using spacers
Getting ready to order new tires and they are 14.5 wide
Wondering what majority of people out there that are running wider tires what type of backspacing recommended going wider or is it the same backspacing used if not running spacers

If you plan on using stock rims for the new tires then I think you need to look at your rim width first before you get to backspacing. A 14.5" wide tire on a stock width rim is out of bounds, I doubt any tire company would even mount it. 12.5" on stock rim is pushing it already.

A rule of thumb is tire width cannot exceed 4" over rim width, so 12.5" wide tire on 8" rim is just over the limit although guys do run them without issues.
