1000 nicks in windshield
#11
I was driving home tonight and there was a real bad glare from the sun. I started to think about this thread and was like damn, my windshield looks worse then I thought. It looks like sandpaper!

I just had mine replaced after a rock came off a snowplow and tagged the bottom edge of the window it cracked and safelite tried to epoxy it. It didn't take but one freeze thaw cycle and the crack shot right up the window. $355 bucks! But now I have a perfectly clear windshield (for a week or so). I love Colorado!

Having driven wranglers for 13 years, this has always been a problem. From my experience it's not due to poor quality glass, but just the fact of the 80 degree angle on which the windshield sits.
I'd be curious to try those removable shields they use on nascar to see if that helps.

All it takes is one gust of wind with some dirt in it. I replaced the windshield on one of my cars and literally 2 weeks later I got next to a dust devil and it was done.

"Its a Jeep thing"
My Jeep has pits all over and a long crack nearly spanning the width. Thankfully, its down low. I'm going replace it here soon. we did it recently on my wife's Suby and its so weird having clear glass. At least for a week or two
