Default 1000 nicks in windshield

Have had my 2010 for three years now. Over time I have developed 1000 little chips on the front windshield. I have not been hit by 1000 rocks. Only a problem when sun hits it just right. Could this be a defect in the glass?

Jeeps are driving walls. Pretty sure you got more then enough debris hitting the windshield. Mines a 2010 also with same result, and I can only recall one hitting it.

I had an insurance adjuster try to tell me this can be caused by driving behind a sand truck. I think it is BS but...

Not necessarily bs. Its kinda possible over time. I've never had any car that doesn't get some over time. Likely just gonna happen faster with the jeep than almost anything else.

It's called "sandblasting".

Yep! Same problem with my 09 and now after owning my 12 after one year. You can't tell until the sun hits it just right. Kind of annoying, but it's not exactly aerodynamic! Just a jeep thing!

Living here in Colorado, every car I've had from a Firebird, Kia, Stratus, RX-7, Supra, all had this issue. Just crap on the roads like sand from the winter driving, create a sandblasted look. After about 5 years the glare is unreal, and some insurance companies will replace the glass minus the deductable.

I have a 08 Rubi and have replaced the windshield 5 times. I live in the Springs and my insurance will not cover the windshield in Colorado. There is a company in Denver that sells a windshield protector, but I have not tried it. If I still had the factory windshield it would be worth the couple hundred bucks.

Was told by the last ws installer, the average ws in CO lasts 18 months. I believe him.
