1" body lift
Thinking about making my own. Has anyone tried this.
Seems pretty simple. I have a chop saw. Just got to
figure out what material to use. Thinking about going
to Home Depot to see what they have. Can't see myself
spending $100.00+ for a handfull of bolts and a few 1" blocks.

I know guys that have made their own body lifts, believe me its a lot easier to spend the hundred bucks. the only reason they made their own was because it wasn't available for their truck model. you don't make body lifts with pipes that you find at home depot.

You'll probably have probs with the two front mounts if you make your own, all the other ones would probably easy to make with the right equipment. The two front mounts are kinda funky lookin.

It would probably be cheaper and less time consuming if you just bought one. Just my opinion. im all for DIY but it will be pretty hard to find the materials you will need (poly or urethane bushings). Quatratec has a kit for like 90 bucks

X2 on that! Spend a hundred bucks and a reliable BL. MORE has been making them for years and are top notch. Others have poly and whatnot, but I can tell you I've had zero probs with the MORE kit and it only takes about an hour to install.

People used to use hockey pucks. By the time you buy a bunch of bucks and some grade 8 bolts you will probably sepnd the 90 bucks you could buy a kit for.
Plus you have to fabricate something for the front 2 mounts.
If you look around you might be able to find a used kit online.

I will start looking tomorrow and keep you guys updated. I have
access to a full machine shop ie. chop saws, bands saws, presses,
lathes, breaks, drill presses, welders.... you get the idea. So for
me I think I can do it pretty cheap. I understand that without
access to this kind of equipment it would be easier to just pay
the 100 bucks or so.
