Default 1/2 Rack, anyone heard of one... got one, or have pics????

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted, but been lurking a while.

I did a search on racks, and there is plenty of info on the full racks.

.... but I want a 1/2 rack.

A rack that will just mount to the rear hardtop. I don't want the rack over my head with top off, and don't want the hassle of tilting a rack out of the way to put my hardtop or softop on. I only want it to hold the front roof panels when I ride around with the rear top on and no fronts. I might mount some lights to the front of it, but won't really put a ton of weight on it. Anyone got any scoop on such a rack?

Thanks,
Jacob

Thanks, but the website shows no workable link for a jeep. No pictures and no pricing. What kind of inside scoop do you have? Any pictures?
Thanks,
Jacob

Thanks, but I am not crazy about the looks of the one from Northridge, maybe I might like it better if I could see the whole jeep. I just want a simple roof rack for the back hardtop.

thanks for the links guys!!!
best,
Jacob

Someone here has used this system by moounting into the hard top. I used to have this rack, there are several sizes that could work.

Default Half Rack

I ended up going with the Kongo Cage, but while I was looking for mine I found a Yakima setup that might work for you, depending on how much you need to haul. The setup is just rails that mount directly to the hard top and you can put on whatever crossbars you need. Worked well up to a couple of hundred pounds if I recall properly.

The Defender Roof racks are pretty sweet.
