@#$% body lift!!!!
#41
I was the one that first did this and posted it as a fix (do a search for MORE body lift problem) and I can tell you I went back and measured the amount it will slide back and forth and it is 9/16'' so it is definately the difference on why some have no problems. I don't have shifting problems since doing this and it takes so little time I did it on my lunch break. I would recommend doing before you trim your boot to see if you still need to trim it. I would tell you though to loosen all the long body bolts including loosening the 2 nuts on the very front body mounts (by the front grill) that came with the kit to get full movement. Very simple and is better than boot cutting. Simple deal.

I still think your going to have to trim the shift boot. Reverse gave me a little issue today. Looks like the driver side might be a little bit further then the passenger. Might have to go through this again if it keeps up. It's hard to tell because its so cold or it could be me.

I installed a 1" body lift yesterday, and I am having the same problems. I am going to try grinding some of the plastic down on the inner boot to see if that is it, but I think for me it is the outer boot putting pressure on the shifter. I have already cut out a good sized chunk of rubber out of the inner boot.
