Default $10k to spend...

I am considering buying a used JK Rubicon (preferably no older than 2008), and I am hoping to have about 8-10K left over in money to spend on modifications. Assuming the Rubi is stock, what all would you guys suggest in terms of modifications that would fit this budget?
Thus far I am thinking the following:
- 5x 35in tires, Nitto Mud All Terrains
- 5x 16in wheels, Atx Artillerys (black)
- Suspension lift, but how much? If 35s can fit on stock, I prefer no lift
- Stubby bumper
- Winch
- Other ideas?

Please let approximate cost so I can start ball parking this in my head. The purchase will be made when I get back from this deployment.
Thanks!

Looking at the deficiencies of a pre-2012 Wrangler, it's hard to not look at a 2012. Rolling 35s means you're going to need gears on a pre-2012. Likely you'll want some bolt on accessories and a programmer for a modest boost in power, which will still leave you short of what the 2012s offer. What you have left is roughly a $6500 premium to get a new vehicle to modify as the funds become available.

Thanks for your service abroad, and be safe out there.

With $10K...Sky is pretty much limit. You can run just about any suspension you want. Running 35's really no need to upgrade the axles except C gussets & axle sleeves.

j33p4life has the right idea, my first question is what do you plan to do with it?

To JPop's point 2012's have a better engine and gearing (Auto's) but I'm not sure its the end of the world like he lets on. I'm keeping my 09. That said you do get a smoking deal through USAA so you may at least want to check that out before making a final decision on a jeep.

Good luck.

Oh Definitely, I picked up my 2009 JKU throught the USAA Car buying service! Lucked out as 90% of the aftermarket stuff I wanted done to my Jeep was completed by the last owner and the dealership rolled over a warranty to boot! Just look at my signature/profile I bought my Jeep this way and saved thousands!!! The only thing I've bought so far is the aFe intake and some interior trim pieces... Soon a winch and an on-board air system and I'm calling it a day!
