Default Is $1,900 too much?

Is $1,900 to have C-Gussets and a 4" Tera Flex Long Arm kit installed to include alingment too much? This gives me peace of mind on any issues that come up, I have someone to take it to to get fixed.

My other option is to have friends assit with the install to include the welding on the lift and gusset braces.

But $1,900 is a lot of money that could be used on many other goddies!

Have your shop break it down in terms of how they are doing the charges. Maybe they're overestimating time because they are inexperienced with this setup, or have been burned on underestimating previous installs.

Your estimate sounds about right compared to what I'm paying for a similar install.

you could always have a welding shop take care of any/all the welding if your not up to it, then handle the rest of the install yourself. save a few bucks that way

I think that's too much. But I'm cheap, like Redneck (that's two things we have in common, Redneck!). Another thought: What makes this business that will charge you $1900 for the install so expert at installing a lift? Do they regularly lift Jeeps, or is this a local mechanic who does general auto work or, worse yet, the dealership? Unless they specialize in lifts, and have lots of experience with Jeeps, I doubt you'll get much better after-market support from them than you can from a couple friends and asking questions of those who have preceded you (on this forum, that is). That's because if there are problems, the installer's first inclination may very well be to either blame the lift or you.

Thanks for all the responses, 4 Wheel Parts is who quoted me the install price. I have done business with them on other lifts and parts. They have never done this lift and the directions state 20+ hours for the install. They are charging an hourly rate based on the hours.

If they have a plasma cutter, 20 hours is way over

Buy a long arm bolt on kit..... I would think the labor price should drop way down?

I paid some one to come in and cut off the factory brackets and weld the new ones on. It was the same lift that you are wanting installed. They charged me 350 for the removal and the welding for the new, then I paid about a 100$ for an alignment. While the welder was doing his thing I was working on the rest.

The best shop here wanted about 1200 bucks to just the brackets and alignment.
