Shipping to AK
I've been shopping for lift components and wheels online, but it is almost impossible to find websites that will ship up here. Anyone have secrets, or websites that will ship larger items up here? I'm okay with paying the extra amount for shipping, but most sites won't even allow you to accept the shipping charges.

I can't imagine it would be that bad... I mean almost everything that's on my JK - inc my front bumper and winch were shipped up here. None of it was cheap... but it's all doable. MetalCloak just shipped my lift last week... cost $350 for the shipping... but it'll be here next week. Not sure if it would be cheaper going to Fairbanks or whatnot...

I've shipped stuff directly to aml, with name, location care of aml. Think min charge is around $120 for a couple hundred lbs.to juneau. they have different rates per what it is. Anything new they will deliver free of charge. Friends have shipped cj frames pretty cheap that way.
FYI a group local jeepers trying to get a southeast ak club together.
Still in its infant stages, for parts, help, whatever.

I've worked some very good deals through Northridge 4x4. They have been great, I got my Off Road Evolution long-arm kit shipped up freight. Calling them is best, they can't calculate shipping on the web site.
If you're willing to wait then go with freight.

This thread is a little old but, this is still a valid problem for us up here in the Last Frontier. I have found that Amazon Prime is great for smaller items but, anything that is considered over sized is a no go for Amazon. Has anyone found a decent source for oversized items?

call the Companies and ask about freight shipping. I lived in North Pole for 16 years. I would call the companies and order stuff and they would arrange freight shipping to my house. Most stuff arrived on a pallet in a big truck. UPS and FED EX are crazy to AK.
