Hey! new to JBER got here Dec. need to find places to wheel. places to wheel and camp along the way. and places to introduce camping to wife and 2 yr old. (for them just normal cabin or something to start off with) for me i like 2 things. camping with my jeep. or minimalist camping (less load on my back) and hiking it in. what places you guys recommend.

I'm interested in the same stuff you are. Maybe we can get something organized in the near future.
When scoping out camp sites we came across a place near by called Eklutna lake. Its a very well groomed site, probably gets pretty well populated but seems like a good place for the family. Tons of hiking trails.

I'll post some pics tonight - there are some trail runs tomorrow. The sign up sheets are posted near the ticket booth - looks like a good opportunity for anyone looking for some new trails.

There are a ton of folks from Fbks that go down there. The majority of the guys that I wheel with are there right now. I would have went but unfortunately had Army and family obligations so I couldn't make it this year.
