Well I went out to King River this weekend and did some atving. Went about 12 miles into the mountains. I think the trail was to a place called outlook point, or something similar. Not sure if anyone is familiar with it. For the first half I was thinking it would be a sweet jeep trail. Then the next half I was pretty thankful I was on a 4 wheeler because I wasn't sure I'd like to see a jeep attempt it. Well we eventually got to a point where we didn't feel like going any further because our group turned around and it looked pretty sketchy. After only about a quarter mile back the other way, wouldn't you guess, there was a JK climbing up this gnarly ass snow and boulder covered hill. The driver was standing beside the jeep beating his fender back on LOL. Wish I had that guys balls.. It was a 2 door 2011 with plates reading A E V. Wonder if he's on here..

Hmm. Most places around here i think only install what you buy from them... Why not DIY? Its a great learning experience.

I would love to do it - however I lack some of the necessary expertise and really don't want to screw this up on a first attempt. I have a buddy who is also a Jeep owner willing to help - he is researching the installation with me now. I may just bite the bullet and try it or arrange an installation party - what I lack in wrenching I make up for in beer and food.

Well I have a garage with a lift so it should be fairly straightforward. The directions online make it look "able to be done by a monkey" - I'm still a bit leery of taking it on though. One bolt at a time though - plus I know I feel a better sense of connection to it if I do it myself. Anxiously waiting for the package to arrive with the goods in the meantime.
