The fan comes on at 215°F, to drop the temp back down to about 195°F.
I don't see 220° being the norm.

220 is a bit hot. My engine coolant runs at 195-200 in 90 degree + weather, in and out of traffic.

this would be to remove the factory leaky crimps.

thanks.
That is what I used and it worked perfect. No more leaks from the factory crimps.

B & M has already taken care of the cold weather issue. From their website:

"The Super-Coolers intended for automatic transmission fluid also offer an additional feature known as “Low Pressure Drop”. The coolers assembled with hose barb ends include a unique bypass feature allowing a controlled amount of ATF to bypass the stacked plate core when the fluid is cold. This is beneficial in cold climate areas to guard against lube system failure. Controlled by viscosity, fluid is returned directly to the lube circuit through bypass openings in the stacked plate core. As the temperature increases, more ATF is directed through the core."

Is it always the "top" line? There appears to be a tag on the hard line just before the radiator connection but I can not reach into that tight of space.

I just got my cooler from jegs and am looking forward to this install.

I have a 2011 Sahara Unlimited auto. Last week while driving on a lite trail in Arizona I got the old ding and hot oil light. Should I go ahead and install the cooler or take it to the dealer and have them do a diagnostic on it to see why it happened. I have just under 6000 miles on it. Plus if I do the mod I risk voiding the warranty. Any input would help. I read the transmission cooler article in JPMagazine so I should be able to do it. I have no mechanical skills
