Thinking about doing this mod, but have question about hose length required. How much hose was provided in the B&M-70264, and how much did you have to purchase additionally to make the runs you did?

Is the factory metal line flared on the ends? Is is it just straight metal tubing?

70264 & 70268 come with 4ft of hose. It requires an additional 4ft to route the lines this way. The additional hose is about $2 a foot from the local auto parts shop.

Under the factory crimp connector/ferrules the metal line wasn't flared on mine, just straight.

Default One More Question

Question to one of you that have installed the B&M 70264 with the brackets. Ordered the cooler, but Summit Racing indicates kit does not come with brackets & hardware (just the push through ties). So I need info on size of brackets to fab some. Going to do this fabrication for mod in Stuttgart, Germany, so no need to send me to Home Depot or like place.

Thanks!

Mike

Did this install yesterday and was super easy. Took about 2 hours since I take my time with everything. Since I had some extra rubber drain hose lying around from another project I decided to wrap the cooler lines for the areas making contact with the frame and condenser just to prevent chafing. May be overkill, but figured it couldn't hurt.

Default Big Transmission Cooler

Took JK into off-road shop for a Trans cooler, thought it would be a small one. When I got it back the cooler is approximately 7 1/2"X22"x1" (manufactured by LONG). This seems big, but the shop foreman said this is what they recommend for Unlimited JKs. He assured me it won't affect the motor cooling. What do you think??

I did mine over the weekend, Works great I went with the Torqflo Super cool from VATOZONE...LOL. I went with the big one. It is 11" X 11 3/8" and I also went with an 8" E-fan with an in-line temp switch that kicks it on @ 185 deg. and off at 170 deg. It works great I went out wheeling @ the sand dunes with it 99 DEG OUTSIDE and the outside of the tranny pan was sitting right about 195 with the fan running. (used a temp gun). NOW ANOTHER PROBLEM........ NOW the water temp was INCREASING....WTF?? oh well I am going to have to keep an eye on it and see what the next step will be, unless someone out there has any suggestions?

Sounds like that cooler setup may block a little too much airflow to the radiator. Since it does have its own fan you could mount it a bit more off the side of something.
