that's a good idea. Especially since several of these have been known to leak at the OEM metal to hose junction.

Why not cut with a hack saw? can't get in there?

I did this mod this past weekend. Thanks for the great write up all - it was very helpful. I ended up using the two rods to secure the top of the cooler to the oem tabs.

Thanks for the write up... Put mine in and it looks Great!!!! I painted my brackets and it looks very clean.

I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. I added the cooler, and I did the grill mod at the same time. I drilled and tapped the holes for the cooler into the front of the Jeep, and used a bedliner spray for the brackets that held the cooler. Pretty easy mod that will pay off in the long run.

I'm not familiar with the "grill mod" and searching is bringing back lots if different results. What mod ?

The grille mod is useing mesh grille or in.my case a piece of expanded steel fit to grille opening. Looks a lot better..

After getting the "HOT OIL" warning several times while driving up a PAVED road, my wife basically ordered me to install one of these. I guess she got a little scared that the tranny fluid would ignite and burn the Jeep down. I tried to tell her that was the worst case scenerio, but figured I'd just nod and order the kit. I've been wanting it for a while now.

Ordered the B&M kit from Amazon.com for $53 shipped.
