Spray in Liner - UPOL Raptor Tintable: Deep Water Blue

No it doesnt have a metallic look, I think thats just from the lighting in some of the pics. It actually matches the color really close, just doesnt have the shine like the body does. I dont see why it wouldnt hold up on bumpers, as long as you do the prep work properly. Mine seems to be holding up real well still after a year. I got mine on Amazon I believe.

My Warn bumpers, and the wrinkle finish, lasted a year. Sanded, etch primed, and Dupli-Colored them with their truck bed liner. Aye...what a disaster. I've been leaning toward powdercoat, but it's so damned expensive! Wondering how far down I'd need to sand these damn things down to get the Raptor to stick. If I had it my way...I'd have all of it galvanized, and leave it!

When you used the duplicolor did you roll it or spray it? They make aerosol cans that spray nicely. I did my Poison Spyder front bumper with the aerosol and it worked great. You might try that. Here is a shot of the finish you can expect.

I've got some rock rails I have to do this spring and the local shop where I get some of my stuff sells their bumpers as bare metal so I was thinking of doing this to a bumper also when I get one.
A for the prep, I roughed up everything with scotchbrite pads and cup brushes. After roughing, I cleaned all surfaces with isopropyl alcohol. I never touch the surface again with bare hand after this.
I then put on two coats of self-etching primer. I opted not to use any adhesion promoter, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to include that.
After priming, I then applied 4 coats of Duplicolor aerosol bedliner on the inside surfaces and 8 coats on the exterior surfaces. It works out to 1/2 a can per coat inside and 1 can per coat outside. That makes for 10 cans total.
The size of the texture will vary with distance from the object. Go further away for fine, and closer for coarse. I wanted fine so I kept the can between 12 & 18 inches away.
It's pretty way, just be patient and don't rush!!!!

Hey Mark, it's been over a year since you did the tintable raptor liner on your tub. Have you observed any kind of fading in the color at all? I've been seriosly considering this for some time but the potential of fading makes me hesitant. Thanks!
