No rubbing.....there is a lip on the factory stops and the hose rests right on the lip.

Completed this mod this morning. Works quite well - though it took stops are three different auto parts stores before I found a straight piece without a flexible steel coil inside it.

just did this mod this morning.. hadda go to 2 chain autos, 1 boat store, then finally NAPA.. they charged $12.99 for 1' but hey, it worked quite well. thanks for the write up. its quite simple.

Yeah, this isn't an easy size to find. But you got a better price than me--I paid over $20 for a foot . . the day before the ones from Quadratec were posted to the site!

I did this for my TJ, my JK is still stock, I bought 2 pieces of hard rubber from McMaster-Carr, 6"square by 1 1/2" thick, part number 8630K211, froze one for 2 1/2 hrs. in the freezer and machined on a milling machine to the 1 1/4" thickness and exact shape as the stock ones. I need that amount of thickness for it to be right.
